The symbolism of the volcano is inseparable from that of the mountain and lava. The volcano is associated with the domain of the gods and telluric forces. It is an enormous power , terribly dangerous and destructive. The inner fire of the magma, when it rises in the form of lava, is synonymous with impetuous and unpredictable anger. The Volcano is a force of nature , this vital force is in each of us and pushes us to accomplish great things, it is a fire that we must preserve and maintain to surpass ourselves.

The arts of embroidery are believed to have originated in the Orient and the Middle East. Early mankind soon discovered that the stitches used to join animal skins together could also be used to embellish clothing.

Intricately embroidered clothing has always been a mark of wealth and status in many cultures, including ancient Persia, India, China, Japan, Byzantium and Europe. Traditional folk techniques have been passed down through generations in cultures as diverse as northern Vietnam, Mexico and Eastern Europe. Today, most contemporary embroidery is sewn using an embroidery machine. Misericordia uses embroidery to give its garments a unique and artistic look.

All the making of our embroidered sweatshirts is done in our own workshop in Lima. Thousands of stitches are needed to obtain embroidery levels with such realistic rendering and impeccable finishes.
